A native of NYC, Rethorn started drawing as a 3 year old, dismissing the constraints of 1960's coloring books to create images of monsters and dinosaurs instead of the usual cartoon animals and superheros. From the late 80's through 2000, Rethorn’s work was shown in some of NYC’s Lower East Side and East Village venues such as Alleged gallery, Max Fish, CBGBs 313 and the artist collective Subculture as well as Detroit’s C-Pop gallery. In August of 2001, he and a small group of artists built and founded NYC’s Fuse gallery where he served as assistant curator. He is currently working on a new collection of oils and charcoal drawings as well as illustrations for a graphic novel.

Represented by The Leslie Barany Artists group, agent Leslie Barany.
