A photographer, filmmaker and curator for over 15 years, Carlos has taken the DIY mantra to heart documenting a variety of sophisticated sub-cultures; music, lifestyle and art. Painter, stylist, make-up artist, and set designer have all been titles he has carried throughout the creation of his vast body of work. Carlos has become best known for his photography through the two huge coffee table tomes WILD SKIN and CRAZY SEXY HOLLYWOOD put out by his European publisher Edition-Ruess. Carlos has honed and refined his artistic sensibilities into a balanced mosaic of high fashion and photo-collages that encompass his entire vision. Batts has a new Book/CD & DVD titled “American Gothic”, a collection of his illustrations and photo-collages. He's currently directing his film Fairy Tale in the City and documenting his muse, Lillian, for her book.
