This year Festival planners expect that crowd to double during this third annual two-day event. The 2009 People's Arts Festival will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to midnight and Sunday, August 30, 2009 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (Rain dates of September 12 and 13th have also been scheduled.) The People's Arts Festival, sponsored by The Russell Center for Creative Arts, is housed at the Russell Industrial Center at 1600 Clay Avenue off I-75. After presenting a widely celebrated gallery at last year’s Festival, Detroit-based Streetwise Art has been given the honor of presenting another exhibit for the third year in a row in a full-size gallery space on the first floor of Building #2. Streetwise Art will be presenting work from highly acclaimed artists, including: |
This spectacular display of fine art will include several never-before-seen pieces, which will be making their debut at the Festival.
